Poznámky z kongresu ČSTS 2009.
Díky Anetě Horákové se s touto velice zajímavou přednáškou můžete nyní seznámit. Jedná se o docela exkluzivní záležitost, neboť Holger si nepřál být natočen takže to neuvidíte ani na oficiálním videozáznamu z kongresu.

THESE ARE THE TWO MAIN THINGS
JUDGING CRITERIAS FOR MUSIC:
“Musicality is the ability of responding to the sounds of the music”
Music; simply divided in…

Melody
-
Voice
-
Rhythm –the most important
Rumba + Chacha > one family, Brazilien samba, Spanish – pasodoble, North America – jive
Quality of the dancer…
- hearing
- responding with the body to the right time (for teachers –understanding and explaining the music)
Quality of the judge…
-hearing
-seeing, if the couple is doing
Judging criteria:
“How to dance IN the music???”
To be in the music is the higher quality!
Quality of dancing
- in tempo (chachacha is the most difficult, rumba is the easiest)
- “on beat”
Staying on feet – on the front > future
In the central > present
On the heal > past
In the central > balanced
We never leave from past – we would be to late – only time –if we want to be late-if we use it consciously
Central part must be in control + in timing of the music
THE RHYTHM:
Dancing in tempo + rhythm (more then timing + tempo –it is a dynamical structure of timing, it is a predominant recurrent (vracející se/ opakující se)structure/ accent of the music)
The Blackpool music is melodic, not rhythmical
“Musicality comes from understanding the steps not from changing the steps”.
Result:
“The judge have to hear what the couple is doing”.
“The problem of todays music”.
Quality of showing

Time

The moments
First moment > feeling the moment then the moment of touch, the moment of connection
“The moments are creating sensations”.
“I do not play the notes, I play the silences between the notes”. Rubinstein > another way of feeling thing > another big quality
Judging criterias for partnering.
Who do we judge???
- male?
- female?
- the couple!!!
Small things can be very special; to dance together is the most difficult thing
The first voice supports the second voice and vice versa.
Problem: “Over-choreographed routines with messy timing”.
“Sharing emotion instead of only sharing steps”.
What do we judge?
Technical skills or/and expression?

very funny –over-expressing emotions
An expression has a logical message
Cool face+ knowledge –it is a strong expression
Cool face+ no knowledge –it is very foolish
The outside or/and details?
Both > e.g. cooking > small details make it special
Be laud is sometimes fantastic
Significant > to have control over the time +
The individuality and authenticity of a couple (not a copy)
